I created this project for my Digital Graphic Communication class fall of 2014. Our professor asked us to take an already released movie and change the genre. So for example, take a comedy like Step Brothers and turn it into a horror movie. I decided to take the movie Inception with Leonardo DiCaprio and turn it into Conception, the Lifetime Movie.
The movie is about a young sixteen year old girl who liked to have fun, until it caught up to her. Ashley was considered the social butterfly of West Hancock. She was pretty, smart, and had everything going for her. She started dating the quarterback of the football team and was looking forward to spring break. Until her world was turn upside down. Ashley found out she was pregnant, but couldn’t believe it. She continued to act as if nothing had changed until her secret came out, and reality set it.
For this project I created the movie poster, the DVD case, the insert, and the DVD cover. The pictures of the girl in all the pieces were taken by me, with the help of my very nice roommate who posed for me. When designing I wanted to focus on the idea of the “two pink lines” and how it can change a person’s life forever. I tried to carry-out that idea in all the pieces with lines and using the pink and blue colors.
