I’ve been a member of the UNI American Advertising Federation (UNI Ad Club) since spring of 2014. I became the Vice-President of Professional Outreach in May of 2014. AAF UNI is a collegiate chapter of the American Advertising Federation, which acts as the “Unifying Voice for Advertising.” The AAF is the oldest national advertising trade association, representing 40,000 professionals in the advertising industry. The AAF’s college chapter program gives you the chance to belong to a professional organization of students who have a curiosity about the world of advertising and a passionate desire to join the industry. Our mission at the newly-created University of Northern Iowa chapter for the American Advertising Federation (AAF) is to build a vibrant and engaged community of students who are passionate about Advertising. We compete every year in the student ADDY awards and the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC).

Some of my responsibilities and accomplishments include:

-Responsible for researching and organizing speakers at general meetings
-Planning and organizing trips to advertising agencies in Minneapolis, Cedar Rapids, etc.
-Member of the winning team at the 2014 AAF Cedar Valley’s AdWars Competition, a fun & challenging competition that tests your advertising knowledge
-Currently working on an integrated communications campaign for Pizza Hut to be presented at the National Student Advertising Competition in Spring of 2015.
